Abstract

„Effects of international teaching experience on challenges in multinational classroom management”

["eprint_fieldname_abstract_plus" not defined]

Stays abroad in university teacher training play an important role in the internationalisation of universities. The keyword is internationalism abroad. But how do these stays affect the pedagogical professionalism of teachers when it comes to multinational classroom management? The dissertation is dedicated to the question of what experiences three student teachers and female teachers gain at educational institutions outside of Europe and how they reflect on these experiences. Against the backdrop of a specially developed intercultural competence model geared to teacher training, the study examines whether and which aspects of intercultural competence can be promoted through stays abroad and how the subjects talk about their work in German classrooms with a high proportion of migrant students. The work is based on a qualitative approach, specifically on guided interviews, which were analysed according to the documentary method.
