Abstract

Didaktische Entwicklungsforschung versucht die beiden getrennt voneinander arbeitenden Felder Hochschule und Schule zu verbinden, indem sie die Ergebnisse der Lehr-Lernforschung in die Unterrichtspraxis transferiert. Daraus lässt sich die Zielsetzung dieser Dissertation ableiten: Unter Berücksichtigung empirisch belegter Qualitätskriterien zur Konzeption von Lernmaterialien (hier u.a. die Effekte der Cognitive Load Theorie) werden Lernmaterialien zum Thema Optik (fächerübergreifend Physik und Biologie) entwickelt und anschließend mit Lernenden in mehreren Schleifen evaluiert. So lassen sich Lücken in den Lernmaterialien finden. Nach jeder Schleife werden die Lernmaterialien überarbeitet, sodass qualitativ hochwertige Lernmaterialien entstehen. Zudem kann das Ablaufschema zur Konzeption, Entwicklung und Evaluation von Lernmaterialien als Produkt der Arbeit angesehen und auf andere Bereiche Didaktischer Entwicklungsforschung übertragen werden.

Learning Material: Conceptual Design, Development and Evaluation

Research on the development of teaching material aims to understand and facilitate the transfer of scientific knowledge on teaching and learning to support classroom practices. This doctoral dissertation asks how research in teaching and learning can guide the process of developing learning material. A procedural model for the conceptual design, development and evaluation of learning materials is proposed and applied to materials facilitating an interdisciplinary learning unit on optics. Quality criteria guiding the conceptual design are derived from research on teaching and learning, making specific use of the effects of the Cognitive Load Theory. The analysis of student results and feedback, obtained from several implementations of the material to real learning situations informed the development and evaluation process. The model for the conceptual design, development and evaluation of learning materials proved to support and guide the development of high quality learning materials.
