Abstract

Die Arbeit befasst sich mit den sogenannten Kunstberichten über die „Große Deutsche Kunstausstellung“ in München, die zwischen 1937 und 1944 jährlich im „Haus der deutschen Kunst“ stattfand. Dort sollte exemplarisch die neue deutsche Kunst des NS-Staates präsentiert werden. In Folge dessen waren die Texte darüber in den Feuilletons zentral. Ihre Aufgabe war es, die Bevölkerung im Sinne einer völkischen Identität zu erziehen und somit vor allem die rassistischen Grundlagen des NS zu vermitteln. Vor allem die Texte der relativ liberalen Tageszeitung „Frankfurter Zeitung und Handelsblatt“ sind vor diesem Hintergrund Gegenstand der Arbeit, die anhand einer diskursanalytisch informierten, qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse untersucht werden.

This paper deals with the so-called art reports on the "Great German Art Exhibition" in Munich, which took place annually between 1937 and 1944 in the "House of German Art". There, the new German art of the Nazi state was to be presented as an example. As a result, the texts about it were central in the feuilletons. Their task was to educate the population in the sense of a völkisch identity and thus above all to convey the racist foundations of the NS. Against this background, the texts of the relatively liberal daily newspaper "Frankfurter Zeitung und Handelsblatt" in particular are the subject of the work, which is examined using a discourse-analytically informed, qualitative content analysis.
