Abstract

In einer digitalisierten Welt mit der Möglichkeit zur permanenten Verfügbarkeit und Selbstpräsentation entsteht ein Kosmos, der sowohl Überwachung als auch Unterdrückung innehat. Dabei steht der fitte Körper im Fokus, der mit dem Ziel der Selbstbestätigung einer ausdauernden Bewertung ausgesetzt ist, die keine (kritische) Auseinandersetzung mit dem jeweils Abgebildeten bedeutet. Die schnelllebige Schönheitsindustrie suggeriert eine Außenseite des Individuums, welche mit der Innenseite meist nur wenig zu tun hat und Körperfrust und Selbstzweifel hervorruft. Die Studie setzt sich daher kritisch mit der Vernachlässigung der Seele und deren Folgen im Kontext Körperkult auseinander und sucht nach Lösungen, um das Individuum wieder als ein Ganzes zu verstehen, bestehend aus Körper, Geist und Seele. Der Rückgriff auf die klassische philosophische Position der griechischen Antike und die Position der philosophischen Anthropologie verdeutlichen mithilfe der Betonung der Seele, in welcher Zerrissenheit sich das Individuum in der Gegenwart befindet und welchen omnipräsenten Herausforderungen es ausgesetzt ist.

In a digitalized world with the possibility of permanent availability and self-presentation, a cosmos emerges that holds both surveillance and suppression. The focus is on the 'fit' body, which is subjected to a persistent evaluation with the goal of self-affirmation, which does not mean a (critical) examination of the respectively depicted in each case. The fast-moving beauty industry suggests an 'outside' of the individual, which usually has little to do with the 'inside' and causes body frustration and self-doubt. The study therefore critically examines the neglect of the soul and its consequences in the context of 'body cult' and seeks solutions to understand the individual again as a whole, consisting of body, mind and soul. The recourse to the classical philosophical position of Greek antiquity and the position of philosophical anthropology clarify, with the help of the emphasis on the soul, the turmoil in which the individual finds itself in the present and the omnipresent challenges to which it is exposed.
