Abstract

Die Dissertation beschäftigt sich mit dem Auszug von Erwachsenen mit geistiger Behinderung aus dem Elternhaus, welcher für die Familien oft mit großen Schwierigkeiten verbunden ist und für die sonderpädagogische Praxis ein Problem von hoher Relevanz darstellt. Bisher liegen allerdings kaum empirische Untersuchungen zur dieser Thematik der Ablösung vor. In der theoretischen Auseinandersetzung wird Ablösung als Übergang betrachtet, was einen neuen Zugang zur Thematik eröffnet. Die Autorin stellt verschiedene Übergangstheorien vor, wobei die ganzheitliche entwicklungs- und systemorientierte Übergangstheorie von Wapner et al als besonders gewinnbringend dargestellt wird. Sie dient als Grundlage für die explorative empirische Untersuchung der Dissertation. Mit dem Ziel der Erhebung der Elternperspektive werden 24 qualitative Interviews durchgeführt werden. Die Auswertung erfolgt anhand der qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse, außerdem wird eine empirisch begründete Typenbildung durchgeführt. Im Anschluss werden pädagogische Konsequenzen aus der Untersuchung abgeleitet und diskutiert.

The dissertation focuses on the transition to independent living of adults with mental retardation. This transition is often very difficult for the families and is therefore highly relevant for the code of practice in the field of special education. Until now, there is only very few empirical data in German on this subjects. Looking at the process of moving out of the family home as a “transition” is a new approach to the subject in Germany, since it was seen as a “replacement” before. The author discusses several transition theories and evaluates the holistic developmental systems-oriented perspective by Wapner et al as the most adequate for the subject in question. As a consequence, the empirical study is based on this theory. The study is aimed at exploring the parents´ perspective and consists of 24 qualitative interviews. After presenting the results of the study, the author draws conclusions from the results for the code of practice in the different fields of special education.
