Abstract

In der Arbeit wird gezeigt, wie moderne historische Erwachsenenbildung auf dem Feld kritischer Heimatgeschichte entwickelt werden kann. Im Theorieteil werden spezifische Grundlagen für eine historische Erwachsenenbildung aufgezeigt und der Begriff der Heimatgeschichte für eine moderne Bildungsarbeit rehabilitiert. Im Praxisteil wird die Anwendung und Umsetzung der Theorie vor Ort gezeigt. In Oldenburg wurden Veranstaltungsmodelle entwickelt, die sich in der Zielgruppe, dem Anspruchsniveau und der Länge der Veranstaltung unterscheiden. Sie bieten eine Fülle von Anschauungsmaterial und Anregungen, die sich auch auf andere Orte übertragen lassen. In einem Exkurs wird ein bisher gänzlich unbekannter Forschungsbereich angesprochen: Bildungsarbeit mit Menschen im Altenheim. Die Verfasserin hat auf diesem Gebiet langjährige Erfahrung und erarbeitet grundlegende Kategorien für diese zukünftig immer stärker zu berücksichtigende Zielgruppe von Bildungsarbeit.

In this study it is shown how modern adult education in the field of history can be developed on the basis of a critical approach to local history. On the theoretical level this is done by pointing out the specific fundamentals of adult education in history as well as by rehabilitating the concept of local history in the context of modern education. On the practical level it is demonstrated how this theory can be applied in a specific locality. In Oldenburg programmes have been developed varying in target groups, in levels of aspiration and in course length. They offer a wide range of materials and ideas, which can also be used in different contexts. One chapter addresses a completely new field of research: education for residents in old-people's homes. The author has had many years of experience in this field and develops fundamental categories for this educational target group, which is sure to require particular attention in future.
