Abstract

ADThera-2 – Adherence to multidisciplinary tumor board (MTB) recommendations in different healthcare organizations and its association with survival time in patients with cancer

["eprint_fieldname_abstract_plus" not defined]

Introduction: Multidisciplinary tumor board (MTB) meetings are essential for cancer patients. This study aimed to determine the adherence to MTB recommendations, the reasons for non-adherence and ist association with disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) in patients with cancer. Methods: This is a retrospective observational study including patients with an initial diagnosis of breast cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, and prostate cancer. Kaplan-Meier analysis and log-rank test, and multivariate Cox proportional hazards (CPH) model were used. Results: Adherence rate (87.5%-96.3%) was quite. There was a significant survival difference in DFS and OS. The most common reason for non-adherence was patient preference. Conclusion: This study highlighted the importance of adherence to MTB recommendation for cancer patients. Further studies should focus on strategies to improve adherence to MTB recommendations.
