Abstract

Grundlage der vorliegenden Dissertation, die Teil eines interdisziplinären Projektes des ICBM und des Forschungszentrums Terramare ist, bilden neun Bohrkerne aus dem nordwestdeutschen Küstenraum. Die erbohrten Kerne erfassen die gesamten holozänen Ablagerungen und wurden in hoher Auflösung u.a. mittels RFA, ICP-OES und ICP-MS auf ihre anorganisch-geochemische Zusammensetzung untersucht. Hauptziel der Arbeit ist es, Erkenntnisse über Art und Herkunft des sedimentierten Materials, Ablagerungsenergetik, Paläosalinität und frühdiagenetische Prozesse der Mineralneubildung zu gewinnen. Die Synthese dieser Ergebnisse führte zu einer detaillierten Rekonstruktion der Paläoumweltbedingungen im Untersuchungsgebiet. The basis of this thesis, which forms part of an interdisciplinary project initiated by the ICBM and Forschungszentrum Terramare, are nine drill cores from the NW German coastal area. The cores cover the entire Holocene deposits and were analysed at high-resolution for their inorganic-geochemical composition by using, e.g., XRF, ICP-OES, and ICP-MS. The major aim of this work is to provide information about type and provenance of deposited material, depositional dynamics, palaeosalinity and early diagenetic processes of mineral formation. The synopsis of these results revealed a detailed reconstruction of the palaeoenvironmental development of the study area.
