Abstract

Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit werden Potentiale einer 'sustainable development' für die Unternehmerschaft in einem Entwicklungsland analysiert: Ob und wie sind betrieblicher Umweltschutz und die Verfolgung des Ziels einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung in dieser Sitation möglich, d.h. betriebswirtschaftlich sinnvoll? Diese Frage wird am Beispiel Zimbabwes erörtert. In die Diskussion dieser Frage fließen entwicklungstheoretische Überlegungen und die Analyse der Rahmenbedingungen ebenso ein wie die Berücksichtigung der kulturellen Voraussetzungen der indigenen Unternehmerschaft. Auf dieser Grundlage wird die mögliche Nutzbarkeit von verschiedenen umweltökonomischen Instrumenten in der Situation in Entwicklungsländern, speziell in Zimbabwe, herausgearbeitet. So werden (alternative) Möglichkeiten für zimbabwische Unternehmer dargestellt, mit der gegebenen Situation umzugehen. Dabei werden Potentiale des innerbetrieblichen Umweltschutzes aufgezeigt, ebenso die über den engen betrieblichen Rahmen hinausweisenden Möglichkeiten der Mitgestaltung der gesetzten Rahmenordnung durch die unternehmerischen Akteure.

In the frame of this work potentials of a 'sustainable developement' for companies in developing economies are analysed: If and how are environmental protection measures and aiming towards a sustainable growth possible for companies in such circumstances, i.e. economically viable? Development theories and the analysis of the given setting as well as considerations of the cultural background of the indigenous entrepreneurs play an important role in the discussion of this question. On this basis the possible usability of the diverse instruments of environmental economics in the situation of developing economies, especially Zimbabwe, is determined. By these means (alternative) ways for companies to deal with the given situation are outlined. The (economical) potentials inherent in environmental protection and management measures are highlighted, as well as the chances for the entrepreneurial actors to take part in forming the given (regulatory) framework when transcending the narrow boundaries of their companies.
