Abstract

In this paper, we propose a context-aware adaptive security framework for eliciting users' context information and adapting this information with mobile applications' network access control mechanism. The framework consists of multi-security incubators, in each of which, a mobile application can be executed. The incubator controls the communication between the mobile application and mobile device resources, such as network access requests. Mobile applications' network access requests are dynamically analyzed based on users' context information, collected from mobile device sensors, and users' security settings using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. We validate our proposed framework in Android Operating System running on handheld smartphone devices. Preliminary results revealed the efficacy of our proposed context-aware security framework in providing network access control management based on users' context information at run-time.
