Abstract

Die nach Norden expandierende Art Crocothemis erythraea ist seit 1999 aus der Weser-Ems-Region bekannt. Der Erstfund aus demLandkreis Emsland ist zugleich der erste für Niedersachsen. Eine Auflistung aller Beobachtungen bis 2008 zeigt 34 Fundorte und eine auffallende Zunahme in der Verbreitung und Abundanz von 2006 bis 2008. Zu den besiedelten Biotopen gehörten regelmäßig auch wiedervernässte Torfstiche in Hochmooren, vermutlich wegen des thermisch begünstigten Mikroklimas in den dort häufigen flutenden Torfmoosen. Dieser Lebensraumtyp wurde für C. erythraea bisher nicht beschrieben.

The dragonfly Crocothemis erythraea is a new inhabitant of the region between Weser and Ems Rivers, NW Germany. The northwards expanding species was recorded in 1999 there for the first time.We compiled a list with all regional records up to 2008, which contains 34 sites and demonstrates an increase in distribution and abundance from2006 to 2008. The species occurred in a broad amplitude of different habitat types. We regularly found it in water bodies of cut and rewetted bogs, most probably due to the warm microclimate within submerged peat moss. This kind of habitat selection was unknown so far.
